Fiction
This side of Group 6 Power and Technology collects fiction and speculative writing — projects that approach the same questions about power, technology, and human autonomy that the analysis side examines, but through narrative rather than argument.
The work here moves at the pace of long projects. Some pieces have been in development for decades; others are recent. They share an interest in the structural forces underneath the surface of contemporary life — what shapes a civilization, who controls its direction, how individuals navigate systems larger than themselves.
Currently in development:
A long-form speculative project tracing a single character across the twentieth century and beyond. Four decades in development.
Shorter speculative pieces drawing on classical and historical figures applied to contemporary settings.
Other work that crosses categories — pieces that combine historical observation, speculative framing, and contemporary concern.
Individual stories will appear here as they're ready. Some may publish first or exclusively on Substack; others will appear here as direct posts. Subscribe via Substack to be notified when new fiction publishes.
